The Superb Training: Hina and Vlad!

13 year old Hina Hikari was lost in the woods. "Ahm, that is east. I think. No. If this one is south, then this must be west. But it can also be east if that is north. EH?" Hina shuffled her hair and punched the ground in annoyance. "Screw this! Someone save me from this boredom!"

Small glittering sparks began to rain down from the sky, and out of nowhere, 10 crystal shards was sent pinning Hina on the trunk of a nearby tree.

"Greetings. I do not wish to be rude, but precautions are necessary." Vladimir appeared in a flash of light standing on top of the tree. "May I have the honor to ask for your name?"

The next thing Hina knew was the sharp pain that hit her back. She gasped, followed by her head hanging low and soft panting. "Nani?" she looked right to left and realized that she was pinned on the tree by crystal shards. However, instead of her usual attitude of extravagant expression of her anger, she turned to Vladimir with sparkling golden eyes.

"I'm Hina. Hina Hikari! Wooooow, did you control those crystal shards? So you're a crystal manipulator then? Wooooow." Her face was glowing with fascination and interest.

Vladimir had a major sweat drop. "Haa? Don't tell me you want me to teach you the art of crystal manipulation?"

Hina gave a wide smiled and nodded, totally forgetting that she was still pinned on the tree. "Pretty pweeaaaase?" she beamed.

Vladimir facepalmed. He snapped two fingers and crystal shards shattered into tiny pieces. "From the Hikari clan eh? So you're an ally then. Alright. I'll teach you but in order to do that, you have to answer my riddle." He smiles and jumps from the tree and lands on the ground. "Up for it?"

Hina dusted off her clothes and moved away from the tree towards Vladimir. "Hmm. Okay then. I'll try my best, sensei." she tilted her head and smiled.

"Ahehee. I love riddles. Okay, here goes one."

"An old man wanted to leave all of his money to one of his three sons, but he didn't know which one he should give it to. He gave each of them a few coins and told them to buy something that would be able to fill their living room. The first man bought straw, but there was not enough to fill the room. The second bought some sticks, but they still did not fill the room. The third man bought two things that filled the room, so he obtained his father's fortune. What were the two things that the man bought?"

Born as a child-prodigy and a natural genius, Hina immediately answered the riddle the moment Vladimir finished his statement. It didn't even take him minutes to think.

"Hmm? That's simple. The 3rd and wise son bought a candle and a match. He lit the candle with the match and light filled the whole room." she blinked and tilted her head. "Am I right?"

Vladimir was shocked at how fast she was able to answer his question. "Have you heard of this riddle somewhere else already? But it can't be. I only say the riddle once. And if they get the wrong answer, I never tell the right one." He smiles. "Amazing. Looks like I'm stuck to teaching you then?"

"Nyahahaha! Alriiight!" she jumped and jumped and jumped. Then dashed towards him and leaned forward, face inches from his. "Can you teach me how to create a rose out of a crystal? I've always wanted to do that but unfortunately no one in Konoha knows crystal manipulation." she smiled. "But at least a I have you know! Hayaku, hayaku! (Quick, quick!) Teach me now" she beamed.

Vladimir moved back. "Ahehehe. Okay okay. You don't have to be so eager." He scratched his head. "A rose made of crystal? That's easy. I'll just teach you the generalized view of it: forming crystal particles out of nowhere."

She clenched her hands together followed by the ever-supportive sparkling eyes. "Haaai, sensei! Arigatou Gozaimasu!"

"Okay, to start with, you need to use chakra to mold particles into crystal. The easiest being that of solids, and the hardest being that of air and wave. We'll start from the very basic." Vladimir takes out a scroll from his back. "Crystal Manipulation is a clan-based ability. BUT, I have managed to surpass even the wisest of my clan's elders, finally allowing me to know the secret to how i can teach crystal manipulation in order for the clan to improve." He unrolls the blank scroll on the ground, finished a long yet quick set of handseals, and slams his palm on the scroll. A circular pattern made of intricate marks appeared on the page.

"Now you have to make a blood sacrifice like that of a summoning jutsu."

Hina looked over the scroll and wondered what it was for. Never the less, she bit the side of her lip, and wiped the blood with her thumb. She then placed her palm on the center of the circle just like what Vlad said.
